Leah Siatkowski, Trustee

Leah Siatkowski is a lifelong Mentor resident. When she was in 5th grade at Dale R. Rice Elementary School, Leah began interacting with the students in the multiple disabilities room in the building. She spent recess and free times getting to know the students and starting herself on the career path she is currently following. She spent middle school and high school continuing as an aide in these classrooms. She was fortunate enough to make the Sparkles Cheerleading Squad, where she met three of her best friends, who all just happen to be on the autism spectrum. In addition to cheering with the squad, Leah was also able to attend community field trips with the classes to help the students improve their academic and social goals.

After graduating from Mentor High School in 2016, Leah spent her summer as a classroom assistant at the CARES extended school year program. This experience led her to apply for and get hired as a classroom assistant at the beginning of the 2016 school year. She has had the opportunity to help the students not only in the classroom, but was also lucky enough to attend the trip to Disney World with her class that was sponsored by Share A Vision. She spent her days at the park with the kids while they enjoyed this once-in-a-lifetime experience! She has also been active in various other Share A Vision fundraising efforts.

Leah is very excited to be a new addition to the Board at Share A Vision! She is looking forward to the opportunity to help enrich the lives of others, both on and off the spectrum. In her free time, Leah enjoys playing recreational softball and basketball. She also enjoys doing various community volunteer activities, including making Easter baskets for kids in homeless shelters and delivering Christmas cards to kids who will be in the hospital during the holiday season. Leah intends to continue working at CARES with the students for years to come.
